The issue of January 2o15 of the journal Enfermería Clinica includes the article “Cross-cultural adaptation of the Mishel uncertainty in illness scale, in a population with chronic kidney disease treated with hemodialysis“. This paper is the result of the PhD thesis developed by Clara Torres-Ortega in hte Universidad de Jaén (Spain), under the supervision of a member or our research group, Dr. Pilar Peña.
This is the first Spanish versión of this scale aimed to measure the “Uncertainty in illnes”, originally developed by Mishel in the USA. This scale could be a useful tool for Nursing researchers in order to measure this aspect in patients with chronic conditions or faced to new or unkown interventions.
