En la educación de estudiantes de enfermería, la simulación clínica es una herramienta efectiva que permite practicar habilidades críticas en un entorno seguro y controlado. Este método no solo facilita el aprendizaje autónomo, sino que también integra tecnología para adaptarse a enfoques educativos modernos. La satisfacción y la confianza en sí mismos son aspectos cruciales al evaluar la efectividad de la simulación clínica en la formación de futuros profesionales de enfermería.
Durante el año académico 2023/2024, se realizó un estudio en la Universidad de Jaén, España, para entender cómo se sentían los estudiantes de enfermería después de participar en simulaciones de situaciones familiares y de intervención. Un total de 96 estudiantes llevaron a cabo la evaluación de una familia en un entorno simulado, y 97 participaron en la implementación de intervenciones de enfermería en un escenario familiar.
Los estudiantes de enfermería evaluaron positivamente la simulación clínica en las dos situaciones. En la evaluación familiar, se sintieron muy satisfechos (con una puntuación promedio de 4,38 sobre 5), y también mostraron elevada autoconfianza (con una puntuación de 4,44 sobre 5). En el escenario de intervención familiar, las puntuaciones fueron ligeramente más altas. No obstante, la diferencia entre simulaciones no fue significativa. Además, descubrimos que aquellos que se prepararon más tiempo antes de las simulaciones tendieron a sentirse más satisfechos y seguros.
Esta investigación destaca la importancia de una buena preparación y la calidad de las simulaciones clínicas para aumentar la satisfacción y la confianza de los estudiantes de enfermería durante su aprendizaje universitario.

Clinical simulation for nursing students – Does it meet expectations?
In the education of nursing students, clinical simulation is an effective tool that allows critical skills to be practised in a safe and controlled environment. This method not only facilitates autonomous learning, but also integrates technology to accommodate modern educational approaches. Satisfaction and self-confidence are crucial aspects when evaluating the effectiveness of clinical simulation in the education of future nursing professionals.
During the 2023/2024 academic year, a study was conducted at the University of Jaén, Spain, to understand how nursing students felt after participating in simulations of familiar and interventional situations. A total of 96 students carried out the assessment of a family in a simulated setting, and 97 participated in the implementation of nursing interventions in a family scenario.
The nursing students evaluated the clinical simulation positively in both situations. In the family assessment, they were very satisfied (with an average score of 4.38 out of 5), and also showed high self-confidence (with a score of 4.44 out of 5). In the family intervention scenario, scores were slightly higher. However, the difference between simulations was not significant. In addition, we found that those who prepared longer before the simulations tended to feel more satisfied and confident.
This research highlights the importance of good preparation and quality of clinical simulations in increasing the satisfaction and confidence of nursing students during their undergraduate learning.
